Scents of Classical Antiquity
VIRIDIS is inspired by the ancient use of evergreen branches, woods, roots and resins to scent homes, temples and bath spaces. This is why we have used, among other ingredients, cedarwood and frankincense – two aromatic materials that, according to ancient written sources, were popular in precisely these settings.
In Classical Antiquity, perfumes had individual names, much as they do today. Their names were often derived from the place where the perfume originated or from the ingredients that defined its scent. Rhodinum, for example, was a rose-based perfume, while narcissinum took its name from the narcissus flower.
VIRIDIS means green in Latin – a name rooted in plants, growth and nature that captures the fragrance’s green, botanical character.
The design
The design is inspired by ancient glass flacons used for perfumes and oils. Their distinctive pearlescent iridescence inspired the surface of the packaging. A contemporary interpretation rooted in Classical Antiquity.
