Our loungewear collection is named after mountains, as we want to create a subtle invitation to a higher level of wellbeing. For us, mountains symbolise elevation on a physical, spiritual and emotional level.

Who owns Karmameju?
Karmameju was founded in 1999 by Mette Skjærbæk, who today owns Karmameju together with Hanne Vendelin Olesen. Hanne is responsible for Karmameju's sales. Mette is responsible for our product development and the direction of the brand.

Is Karmameju Danish?
Yes, Karmameju is a Danish skincare brand based in Copenhagen and founded by Mette Skjærbæk​.

Is there perfume in Karmameju?
Karmameju uses 100% natural scents from essential oils in many products, but also offers a large perfume-free range for those who want skincare without fragrance​.

Is Karmameju organic?
Yes, Karmameju uses organic ingredients where possible – especially in base ingredients such as aloe vera and shea butter​

Is Karmameju vegan?
Most Karmameju products are vegan, but in salt scrubs we use beeswax and honey. The packaging​ always clearly states when a product is vegan. Karmameju Skincare is cruelty-free and not tested on animals. Our ethos of protecting animal welfare goes hand in hand with the EU rules in force since 2013, which ban testing cosmetic ingredients or products on animals.

Why is it called Karmameju?
Karmameju is made up of "karma" and the first letters of the founders Mette and Julie's names. It reflects our holistic philosophy that everything we do comes back. We create skincare in synergy with nature and with the belief in our human connection with it.
