RITUALS
How-to double dry brush
By founder, Mette Skjærbæk
Take your wellness routine to the next level with double dry brushing: dry brushing with two brushes. An effective ritual that enhances exfoliation, boosts circulation, and supports lymphatic drainage in half the time. It’s more than skincare; it’s a deeper dialogue with your body, where you tune in to its needs and amplify your natural glow.
In this article by our founder, Mette Skjærbæk, you can learn more about the technique behind double dry brushing.
Double dry brushing means using two dry brushes simultaneously, one in each hand.
I’ve been doing this for years, and it’s become such a habit that it almost feels wrong to use just one brush.
Double the circulation boost
Using two brushes effectively stimulates blood flow, energising your body and promoting healthier, more radiant skin.
Faster full-body brushing
With two brushes, you can cover more skin in less time, making your dry brushing routine quicker and more efficient.
Super exfoliation
Achieve smooth, soft skin using two brushes to remove dead skin cells and cleanse pores gently.
Balanced lymphatic drainage
Two brushes allow synchronised strokes that optimise lymphatic drainage, helping your body eliminate toxins effectively.
The ultimate self-care ritual
Enhance your experience with the rhythmic movements of two brushes, delivering a spa-like treatment that soothes the mind and refreshes the body.
The most comforting feeling
The synchrony and rhythmic motions of two brushes on your skin feel amazing! It’s like having a dry brushing session with a skincare therapist or enjoying a spa treatment.

The benefits for me of brushing with two brushes are both the feeling of synchronicity on the skin, which feels really nice, and the fact that it’s twice as fast. Even though it’s not about time or speed: dry brushing is such a lovely way to gently say good morning to yourself – to say good morning to your skin. But I do love results, so give me double the outcome along with a delightful sensation on the skin!
When you hold a brush in each hand, it will feel natural to you how to use them.
Feet and legs:
I brush one leg at a time using both brushes.
Hips and buttocks:
I brush both areas simultaneously, one brush on each side.
Stomach:
The motion is light and upward, with the brushes positioned side by side.
Lower back and neck:
Same technique as on the stomach – brushes side by side.
Arms and between the shoulder blades:
I only use one brush here, not two.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.
I’m often asked: “Can I brush with one RECHARGE and one BUFF brush?” And while you certainly can, I personally prefer using two RECHARGE brushes or two BUFF brushes. You can do this with both our long-handle brushes and our brushes with short leather straps.
… And what about double dry brushing for the face?
The same benefits apply here. It feels so stimulating and dynamic to dry brush with two RENEW brushes on the face at once. You just need to find your flow, and then it feels natural in your hands. For the face, I primarily dry brush both sides at the same time.
Happy double dry brushing!
With love, Mette
