An alkaline body is a happy body, and when the body is comfortable, the skin feels good. The Alkaline Smoothie contains foods that promote an alkaline intestinal system, which is anti-inflammatory and boosts your body with vitamins and minerals.

________

All skin types benefit from an alkaline smoothie – delicate, sensitive, reactive skin especially, including skin with eczema and other dermatologically challenged skin.

This recipe makes about ½ litre of smoothie

The fruit and vegetables used can be frozen or fresh

  • 1/3 of a cucumber
  • 1 handful of cabbage
  • 1 dl peas
  • ½ avocado
  • 1 slice of pineapple, about 2 cm thick, without peel. Use the core too.
  • Juice of ½ grapefruit
  • ½ apple
  • 2 dl water, coconut water or cold herbal tea*
  • 2 teaspoon pumpkin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon linseed oil
  • 2 teaspoon olive oil

If you like spicy ingredients add anti-inflammatory chili or cayenne pepper.

Preparation

/ Put all of the ingredients in the blender except for the oil. Blend until the smoothie is creamy with no lumps.

/ Add the linseed and olive oil and blend for another 10 seconds until the smoothie is ready to drink.
