SUNSCREEN FOR KIDS / SPF 30
The key to a smooth application with mineral UV filters
Mineral sunscreens and dry skin are not good friends! Dry skin makes the cream more difficult to apply transparently. Therefore, it is important to be well moisturised if you, like us, only want to use the mineral sun filters on your own and your family’s precious skin. Ensure easy and sheer application with mineral sunscreen by moisturising the skin before application and simply warm the sun lotion between your hands to melt and soften the mineral pigments before applying the lotion on the skin.
· Warm up the product between your hands and massage it into the skin.
· Apply until skin is fully covered. If the skin is not fully covered, the level of protection is reduced significantly. A rule of thumb is that a handful of sunscreen in your hand will suit your body.
· Sunscreen with physical filters offers sun protection immediately after application.
· Reapply frequently, especially after sweating, and always apply after bathing or towel drying.
· Allow the product to absorb into skin before getting dressed.
· Always store your sun care products in the shade, or as cool as possible, to preserve the optimal effect of the natural and active ingredients.
Sunhat, light clothing and staying in the shade between 12 and 3 pm are great ways to protect the skin when the sun is highest and strongest.
CAUTION Avoid excessive sunbathing even after applying sunscreen. Too much sun poses a serious health risk. Choose an SPF that suits your skin type and the strength of the sun. If you have sensitive skin choose products with high SPF.
Children of any colour needs sun protection. The lighter the natural skin colour, the less melanin it has to absorb the UV rays and protect itself. The darker the skin colour, the more melanin and natural protection it has. Still, every child needs protection from the sun - because any tanning or burning can cause potential skin damage and premature signs of ageing.
Infants and babies have thinner skin and underdeveloped melanin, with means their skin is highly vulnerable to sun damage. The recommended and safest protection for babies under 6 months of age is shade, light airy clothes and sun hat. Keep babies and toddlers out of direct sunlight.
Sunscreen does not offer 100% protection, why we encourage you to think about your health when staying in the sun. Never stay in the sun for longer periods. Protect the skin on your body with loose-fitting clothes, and your scalp and face with a sunhat. It is recommended that you stay out of the sun between 12-3 pm when the sun is strongest.
To achieve the level of protection similar to the SPF stated on the product packaging, the product must be applied to skin in amounts similar to that of which the SPF has been tested in the lab. To an average-sized body, you should use an amount of 2 mg/cm2 equal to 6 tsp. of sunscreen. If the skin is not adequately covered, the level of protection becomes limited. If only half of the recommended amount is used, the level of protection can be reduced by up to two-thirds.
If product gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. Not for consumption. Skin test advisable. Seek professional guidance when using essential oils if you are pregnant/breastfeeding. Store in a cool place away from sunlight. May contain traces of nut oil.
